I have been wanting to hook up some permanent gas lights in my place for emergency lighting. Been dragging my feet but I just saw the other day that The Sportsman's Guide had them on sale for 35 bucks. This is a really good deal so I bought 4. Been wanting to change the stove in my barn over to a barrel stove and they had barrel stove kits on sale too for 44 bucks so I got a couple of them as well. I'm wishing I got the lights sooner cause I have a feeling we'll be needing them with this ice and wind on the way.

Got to love the barrel stoves. I don't know if they have the kits for the double barrel where you got yours but I know they have it at Northern tool..It's supposed to help out a lot.... They also have a plate for cooking that mounts right on the barrel...

They had the double barrel kits on sale too.

Barrel stoves are excellent heaters and these kits seem to be pretty good. The flue actually has the 6" damper built right into it which is something I've never seen before. ;D

Through the year I will be making all kiinds of (how to) videos for homesteading and emergency preparedness. I thrive on alternative methods of living. Been over 2 months straight now and not one meal has been dependant on the electric or gas company for its preparation ;D

If you get Tommer involved with that like you two did your trapping video, you may want to make sure that the door is looked for Bigfoot & the squirrel with the drinking problem dint screw things up!

Happy to hear it ;D You won't regret building your own empire ;D Lots of benefits to owning your own place, especially farm land. The money I save every year just from being "Farm tax Exhempt" lets me spend it on other things like barrel stove kits and gas lights and ATV racks

if it all goes to bills there's nothing left to spend
