A few months ago I applied for a NFL rewards credit card that had an offer of 10,000 bonus points after you spend I believe $500.00 dollars in the first 3 months which is a $100.00 dollar credit. Well I paid my home owners insurance with it and received that 10,000 points.
Well the other day I bought 3 dozen Duke 110's and 2 ounces of stef forgets lure from F&T fur harvesters and it was all free.
Love playing the game.

A few months back, I had bought a T/C Omega .50cal. By applying for the store for a store credit card, I saved an additional amount of money on the gun. It was already on sale and I paid cash for it. Once the card arrived in the mail, I called the number on the back of the card and cancelled it right away. If I kept it, I would have had to pay an BS annual fee rather I used it or not. That's how a lot of these CC companies make money but I can play the game too!

We have a cabelas rewards card. Its ok,we probably save enough points to do most of our christmas shopping . The only way it makes sense with these programs if you pay off the balance each month, otherwise the perks get buried by the interest fees.

Yes absolutely right. Carrying a balance is not the plan here. The plan is to get something for nothing. If a person writes a thousand dollars worth of checks every month, then he spends a grand, money for checks and stamps. But if he pays with the card he earns 10 bucks and saves the time and money of writing and mailing checks. Small savings and small earnings add up fast and make a difference. People just seem to feel though that if they use the card they should let the expense ride and not ay the balance when they would be paying the same amount if they were writing checks. I presently have over 800 bucks in free spending to do at Cabelas. It's all free money earned from paying my bills. Why on earth folks don't take advantage of this I'll never know. Rewards, free balance transfers and 0% interest for 12 months or more can be a guys best friend when played correctly. Everything's on the plastic over here ;D ;D ;D
