Now I have eaten turtle in soup, how else can you cook them? Got a recipe? How many turtles for a meal, for 6.
Catching them, I can hook an line, but I'm affraid of catching a bunch of small turtles before I catch a keeper. Would like to hear the Pro's/Con's of hook an line fishing for them.
Cleaning them, can you clean the fresh, I've heard of putting them in fresh water for a while an let clean/flush out, freshing there water daily for a week, or something.
This is another activity I'd like to try, but I'd like to learn more about it first, before I commit to catching some turtles.
The 2 ways I cook. Parbroil for an hour, then let cool, batter and bake for 2 hours on 350/or batter and deep fry for 30 minutes. The other way is in the crock pot with your favorite veggies for 8 hours.
Yes, I like "cleaning them out" for 5 days or so in a tank.
Sog, I'm not a turtle guy, but one thing I would recommend is to not set your lines to close to underwater root systems, you may just find yourself reaching up into the roots feeling fir the turtle. That wouldn't be fun. RIGHT CJ?
