Need Some advice... Aug 16, 2014 14:55:08 GMT -5

I currently have a dilemma. I inherited a single wide and 1 acre of land out side of the town I grew up in. My wife, newborn and I are currently living in it. No one knew that the modified roof that my grand parents put on it like 18 years ago was dry rotted and was slowly letting water seep into the ceiling and walls. After there death and it was in probate for a year it got passed on to me. We have put a free standing roof with a 5/12 pitch over the mobile home and are remodeling it a little at a time as we can afford. My self and a few friends did the roof over but racked up a lot of credit card debt and I had to take a personal loan. Since the insurance company had a clause saying that if the roof had been modified it wouldn't cover a thing. The bank wouldn't give us a equity loan due to it being a mobile home. Even though the 1 acre of land is valued at $19,000. Land is expensive in my area due to close proximity to a major metropolitan area and being near the lake. Are neighbors are all dicks and pill heads. I can't walk out to my out building without at least one neighbor being perched like a buzzard over a gut pile. Ready to call the fire department if I burn leaves or brush in a burn barrel. Sorry got on a rant there....My wife and I really despise living here, but we know that we are blessed that we have a "home" and land that is ours at such a young age. I am 25 and she is 22. Been together now 6 years in September..We long for a "cabin in the woods" as JC would put it. Like most young adults in our generation before we was giving this opportunity we racked up a little debt from credit cards and I wasn't on board with saving money. We are just now starting to change our habits so that we can have our dream. Should we sell out after the home renovations or should we rent it out. In my area a single wide 2b 2 bath in great shape will at least fetch 650 a month in rent. Oh and I've cut up all the credit cards we have so we will stop using those damn things.
