I was wondering when this first post would show up. Bit too cold around here yet. Hell we had two inches of snow last night. I've yet to find one in the wild despite much searching. Someday I will stumble across one of these unicorns.
Yeah Brad, I was actually surprised to find these today. But we've had a good bit of rain and several thunderstorms here in the past week or so. This is the first time I ever found some on my first time out for a season.

Cool find had a neighbor tonight tell me some friends of his found some today in southern lower Michigan its a little early here but with the crazy weather we've had I was thinking about looking for some myself now it's on
You guys have better eyes than I do, I only thought there were 9. On the other side of the tree there were a bunch more, but I was so excited the pictures were blurry. I ended up picking 53 just from around this one tree.
Oh my gosh! I sure would love to hunt these, but I have never seen them here. My daughter asked me to get to thinking what I wanted for Mothers day a few weeks before m. day. So I did and I told her I wanted some books on edible mushrooms and edible and medicinal wild plants. So she and hubby gave me a amazon gift card. I just got my books in the mail a couple days ago. Would LOVVVVVVVE to go foraging for mushrooms and such with someone so I can learn just what to look for. I did find a mullein plant after I saw a vid on you tube on the plant. I was so excited I actually saw and recognized one! There's a lady I know online that lives fairly close to me that knows this stuff that I'd love to meet and learn from. Anyway I pm'ed her on Facebook and asked to make sure I did indeed identify the plant and she said yes it was mullein. I had taken some pix of it just to be sure. Now I have 3 growing in my flower beds since I was told to take them because they would be mowed down. :-)
