I put some things in really late , tried some raised beds with new topsoil to see if I can get any tomatoes? They look good so far . Got a few zukes and something got in and ate all my beans , radishes and cukes?
Last spring everyone encouraged me to plant a lot of garden, well in the spring time it really doesn't take much encouragement for me to jump in way over my head.. and I did.. but the family all pitched in and helped out.. it was great.. well now its coming in really has been a successful season.. we threw out all the old stuff from the freezers, defrosted them and we are loading them back up now.. also the pantry is about full of canned green beans.. we love our green beans and need at the very least enough for a quart a week to get by.. four corn plantings and now the very last of them is almost finished.. Saturday a low country boil is planned.. I put in 16 rows of okra for selling I haven't started selling yet all of the plants aren't in full production yet.. but Man when it does.. got a large pea patch with an electric fence around it and the deer are respecting it so far.. peas should be in about September. Bunches of beans planted, Jackson Wonders I hate to pick the things and hate shelling them more.. but they are good eating for sure.. Tomatoes, I emptied my seed packages and I had a bunch of tomato seeds.. sowed them in window boxes and had a lot of little tomato plants of all kinds in there.. we counted 230 plants, we put them in new ground down by the creek so to have plenty of water if needed, we didn't need any,, ran them all on crop netting and they are coming in heavy now.. we are starting to can them up too.. I have an old pear tree I bought when I was about 16 from the FFA when I was in school.. it is dropping pears now, and between the deer and I there are still plenty on the ground..
This morning I bush hogged the corn patches and plowed the weeds and mess under the best I could.. got to get ready for the fall garden.. usually the fall garden is my best one, I really love my greens, cabbage, and broccoli..

I was two weeks late with pumpkins, seeds rotted in rain, replanted and they got dug up and ate by something, replanted again and I will get nothing for my weak effort this year. On a positive note i know I can just walk around the farmers market on Saturday when the other vendors are packing up and we just give away stuff to each other. Always plenty of fresh tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce and COOKIES.
I didn't put my garden in until mid-July this year, so its a bit behind to say the least. I only put in green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and some radishes. I also had a ton of volunteer pumpkins come in this year from the rotten pumpkins I threw in the garden last fall. Free produce
