Moved them outside yesterday, only 78 made it from the 104 that were shipped. I have never started this early and the cold temps hit me hard. I screwed up in not putting all the birds in the same brooder with two lights. I split them between two brooders like I always do. I never have lost this many from the brooders.
That’s good news they were all sold , how are things going farmer ?
I'm well Wade, just busy as can be. Trying to finish boat work while moving forward with farm. Lost a chicken two nights ago, drug out thru wire from pen. This am, found eight birds in one nest box, two smoothered. Figure coon, will see what tomorow am brings, two dp set. Made repairs to pens also.
This Covid crap has helped the farm get going strong, I alway sell out of eggs, but pork and chicken sales are going very strong. Working on getting some strawberries planted and expanding asparagus patch currently. Need water temps to rise a few more degrees for crabs to get moving, looking forward to that. How is your world in Steelers country?

Second batch should be ready to start processing end of week or beginning of next. Rain end of this week and not much pork on hand right now may get things moving. First batch sold basically for $4.00 a pound, #3 bird is $12 and anything larger is $14. Nothing finished above #4.25 most right at #3.5.
